Dr. Catherine Hood, a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a doctorate in
nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, is not only a part-time nurse
practitioner with Advent Health Group but also a dedicated educator of DNP
students. Her Bachelor’s in Nursing is from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill – Chapel Hill, NC. She primarily teaches within the FNP specialty
course at the University of Maryland Baltimore, inspiring the next generation of
healthcare professionals.

Dr. Hood brings a wealth of experience from various medical environments,
including urgent care, rheumatologic, and primary care. Her approach is to
provide every patient with safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. She
values shared decision-making, working with her patients to make informed
decisions about their health. Her passion lies in building relationships and
collaborating with her patients to help them lead genuinely healthy, happy lives.
Dr. Hood is married and has two sons.
